Formula Toyota
Formula Toyota is the series which gives many drivers who step-up from kart their first experience of car racing and Bridgestone has been the one-make tyre supplier to Formula Toyota for 15 years.

In 2002 there was a change to a new chassis while the dry tyre in the same year and the wet tyre in 2003 were changed over from bias-ply to radial.

The aim was to acquaint drivers hoping to progress to F3 and beyond with the characteristics of the radial tyres used in those categories at an earlier stage. The 11-round championship in 2005 was won by Kazuya Oshima who saw off the challenge of Tsubasa Abe whose victory in the final race at the Fuji Speedway left him just six points adrift of his rival.

Bridgestone have committed themselves to be the one-make tyre supplier to the Formula Toyota series for 2007 and beyond.  Many promising young drivers compete in this category as training for the step up to Formula 3, and as a gateway to the pinnacle of racing Formula 1.  In 2006, Yuhi Sekiguchi took the Formula Toyota title, earning himself a position in the All Japan Formula 3 series in 2007.
