F1 News - Davidson Bursting With Confidence For 2007
22/11/2006
New Super Aguri signing Anthony Davidson has already set his sights on scoring points next year, his first full season as a Formula 1 driver.
"The ultimate goal has to be scoring points," says Anthony, who will have his first test for the Bridgestone-shod team at Barcelona next week. "My first objective is to finish my first race with the team in Melbourne and then go on from there.”
“By the end of the year, I hope to be pushing team-mate Takuma Sato (above) really hard and hopefully we will be in a really competitive environment with our car."
Davidson has contested three Grands Prix to date, but with little fortune. In 2002 he drove in the Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix for Minardi, but spun out of both races. Then in 2005 he replaced the feverish Sato in the Malaysian Grand Prix, but retired after just three laps with a blown engine.
"None of those races went to plan," said Anthony. "Testing is one thing, racing is another and I must finish races next year. I can't wait to get started."
