Ferrari and Bridgestone signalled their determination to return to the front of the Formula One grid at their traditional end-of-season event at Mugello in Italy last weekend.
Seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello made demonstration runs as the ?Ferrari World Finals' also saw the debut of the FXX and F430 Challenge road cars.
Over 30,000 fans heard Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo promise: "We will fight to get back to the top with the support of our suppliers in Formula One.
"The winless period has gone on for too long for our liking. What has happened has already been forgotten, as the challenge (to achieve success) is the only thing in our DNA."
Brazilian Barrichello made his last official appearance with his Scuderia colleagues before spending his final day with the team on Tuesday driving his family around in the Ferrari three-seater Formula One car.
Montezemolo paid tribute to the departing driver and said: "Rubens has always been a fundamental part of the Ferrari family and I have special memories of the three race (wins) that meant a lot for this company."
Barrichello joined Ferrari in 2000 and won his first Grand Prix later that year in Germany. He won eight further races as well as achieving 11 pole positions and 15 fastest laps.
Bridgestone and Ferrari are already set for an intensive test programme starting this month (October) as they work towards a return to the pinnacle of Formula One in 2006.
They enjoyed a celebration of their successful history last weekend as 28 historic Formula One cars, including the championship-winning cars of Alberto Ascari, Niki Lauda, Jody Scheckter and Schumacher, took to the track.
Ferrari Managing Director Jean Todt was present at Mugello and was delighted to see cars and drivers from Ferrari's 55-year racing history competing in anger on the track.
Todt said: "It is always a pleasure to greet Ferrari's friends at an event like the World Finals, even if this year is a little different.
"This year we could not do better than third place in the World Constructors' and the Drivers' championships and we feel the great enthusiasm and enormous affection of our fans.
"It is clear that they would prefer to see Ferrari winning. This company has made motor-racing history down the years and its fans will support it even in difficult times."
Ferrari will be back on track with Bridgestone at Vallelunga, near Rome on October 26-27 and again on November 1-3 before some warm-weather testing at Bahrain on November 18-22.
